Two
people were injured Tuesday when a truck collided with a
passenger vehicle, pinning the car underneath it. The truck crash occurred
at about 7:45 a.m. on Interstate 10.
Authorities
say the crash was sparked when a Toyota drove into the path of a truck hauling
candy. The truck then swerved to the left with the car underneath it, causing
both vehicles to slam into the median. First responders found the semi truck on
top of the car. Both drivers were extricated from their vehicles and rushed to
a local hospital with "minor to moderate" injuries.
The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin reports that traffic on the I-10 was snarled for over 10 hours. An investigation into the accident is underway.
