Delivery Van Strikes Passenger Vehicle, Killing a California Family Heading to Disneyland

A flower delivery van struck a passenger vehicle on Sunday morning, killing a family of five. The fatal crash happened at around 7:00 a.m. on Main Street and Balsam Avenue in Hesperia, California. Law enforcement officials say the family was in a Honda stopped at a stop sign when the delivery van slammed into them. The impact caused the van to roll over and land on top of the passenger vehicle. The van’s driver, who sustained minor injuries, told officials that he "looked away for a second" prior to the crash.

Angelica Garcia and Gerardo Jimenez – along with their children Freddie, Cynthia and Ivan – were all killed in the accident. The family was on their way to visit Disneyland to celebrate Cynthia's birthday. She would have turned five on Monday.

According to the Daily News, no charges have been filed against the flower delivery van driver. An investigation is underway.
